The underlying trend in total guest nights in short-term commercial accommodation has been increasing since June 1998. In December 2003, the trend level in total guest nights was 3 percent higher than the level in December 2002 and 8 percent higher than in December 2001.

Actual total guest nights were 3.1 million in December 2003, a 5 percent increase compared with December 2002 and a 9 percent increase compared with December 2001.

Total guest nights for the year ended December 2003 were 2 percent higher than the year ended December 2002 and 9 percent higher than the year ended December 2001.
